About Us
San-Tech Machining (STM) is a family owned business based in Toowoomba.

Started by Ian and Leanne Santinella in 1995, the current owners, Bart and Kate Woodhead, took over the reins in September 2021.
Bart's 25 years of engineering experience - having previously owned Goondiwindi Engineering for 15 years - guarantees the best advice on the right methods and materials for CNC machined components, large or small.

We pride ourselves on our friendly customer service and the ability to meet our customers demands. With quality workmanship, highly skilled and dedicated staff - some who have been with STM for over 10 years - and well developed systems, STM has built a reputation as a professional and reliable manufacturing engineering company servicing Toowoomba and other areas around South East Queensland.

Our wide range of machinery allows STM to manufacture almost anything our customers require. It also means that the majority of work can be done on premises. We provide componentry for equipment used throughout the mining and agricultural industries, oil and gas sector, defence and many more.

What does CNC Machining Mean?
CNC stands for Computerized Numerical Control. It is a computerized manufacturing process in which pre-programmed software controls the movement of production equipment. Computers take input from machinists, who translate drawings into a program. The machine then dictates to the tool what speed and movement to follow in order to create the desired part or object. This results in high precision and quality.

CNC TURNING is the process used to create cylindrical features and parts. Turned components are produced on a lathe where the work piece is rotated and a cutting tool is used to remove material.
Typical components that can be made are: pulleys, shafts, spacer rings, bushes, pins, bearings, rollers, flanges and more. Turned features that can be machined on a lathe include: Internal and external threads, spigots and recess for bearings and seals, O-ring grooves, tapers, sheave and pulley grooves and chamfers and contours.

CNC MILLING involves rotating the tool to cut the workpiece. Milled components include manifolds, keys, covers, housings and tooling. Features that can be milled include: holes and threads, keyways and slots, bevels and chamfers and engraving.
With high standards of quality control, our multi-axis CNC machines produce precision turning, lathing, broaching, milling and drilling, prototyping and auto material feed which in turn equals perfect parts, delivered cost-effectively, in a good timeframe and with clear communication.
